Rosenwork
Rosen work is a bodywork developed by Marion Rosen that is similar in intention to psychotherapy. In her career as a physical therapist, she discovered that her clients recovered more quickly when they were able to talk about their experiences as they received treatment. Rosen work became a healing form that integrates touching and talking to help you recognize how your thoughts and feelings affect the holding in your body. It helps to close the gap between who you think you are and who you really are. Rosen work is similar to meditation in that it is a practice of observing what is.
People seek out Rosen work when they have stubborn physical / emotional issues that don't respond to traditional bodywork or talk therapy. My role as a practitioner is to facilitate your healing process. I do this by being present, gentle, deep touch, and observing your breath (because the breath is the bridge between consciousness and unconsciousness).
Through words and touch, I reflect back to you what I see so that you may know yourself better.
Regardless of the perceived issues though, Rosen work is ultimately about learning to recognize, trust, and receive intimacy. Over time as this happens, the emotional sabotage patterns that lead to physical tension melt away as they cease to serve a purpose. As a client, you are able to take what you have practiced within a session and embody it in the world.
My own experiences and studies are present when I practice Rosen work. I see the divine in all things and believe we are all striving in our own way to express that divinity. I believe this is the same as being present. And being present is what happens when you let go of tension. Being present is "being" in a state of self acceptance and "being" in a state of self love. Ultimately being divine. Rosen work is an opportunity to practice embodying your truth.
